Paul Bridenbaugh, Felipe Dulzaides and Evelyne Koeppel at Refusalon

by Barbara Morris

(...) Cuban-born artist Dulzaides collaborated with gallery director Shmulik Krampf on the video portion of Dulzaide's installation The World is a Theater and… This work, which takes "crime" as its subject matter, was filmed in the Refusalon gallery space itself. A figure rushes in and up the stairs, then quietly enters the interior gallery space, awkwardly carrying a large, automatic weapon. We see Krampf sitting in the office, reading - the figure rushes out, leaving him lying sprawled on the floor in a pool of blood.
